Native Plant Seed Collection Workshop

Join the Salmon Protection and Watershed Network (SPAWN) for a morning workshop on native plant seed collection techniques. Participants will learn how to identify native plants and collect seeds in the San Geronimo Valley, in Marin's Lagunitas Watershed. Rose Roberts, Nursery Manager for Circuit Riders Productions Inc will be leading this workshop in partnership with SPAWN. Gardners and restoration ecologists alike prefer native plants from local seed sources and this workshop will provide an opportunity to learn about local seed collection.

Participants will learn when to collect seeds and cuttings from various plant species. Seeds collected during the workshop will be cultivated and returned to the San Geronimo Valley for various restoration projects next spring and summer to improve habitat for spawning salmon populations and a myriad of other species.
