SALMON PROTECTION AND WATERSHED NETWORK

Attend the West Marin Green festival
on Saturday October 25, 2003 from 10am - 4pm.

This event will highlight the 'green' efforts occurring in West Marin.

SPAWN will be conducting a restoration project at Roy's Pools from 10am - 1pm on the day of the event. Signage will direct interested visitors to the site. As far as I know, we are the only folks who will be a doing an 'on the ground', action oriented project at the festival. Therefore, this project may be quite popular.

In addition, we will also have information about our other project, the Sea Turtle Restoration Project, which has been working to protect endangered sea turtles for over 15 years.

If you want to volunteer with us, here are 2 ways that you can help!............

1) Represent SPAWN at our booth and provide information to the public: This would be quite straightforward and easy to do. We have all the materials and will set them up for you ahead of time. They will simply need to be distributed on the table in the morning and packed away in the afternoon.

We can use 3-4 folks for the tabling effort.

2 shifts: 10-1:30 and 1:30-4:30. - If you are available for times other than

this, that would be fine.2) Help facilitate the restoration project at Roy's Pools: This would involve helping visitors understand what we are doing at the site, history of what has occurred there in the past and helping them get their hands dirty!

We are planning to:

A) Remove non-native plants
B) Lay cardboard and mulch
C) Enclose a small patch of willows with deer fence

We can use 1-2 more folks from 9:45-1:00pm (or a part of this time).

See you there!
