Watershed Restoration and Monitoring Projects
Improve habitat in Marin's Lagunitas Watershed!

Water Quality Program Training

SPAWN has begun a 2 year study to monitor water quality in Marin's Lagunitas Watershed through a grant from the Regional Water Quality Control Board. Even though, the training has already begun, there are still a few spaces still available for individuals who are particularly interested. Volunteers need to commit to the program for at least 1 year. If you want to join the team, contact Reuven.

When: Sunday Feb. 8th 9-12,

Who: Interested individuals who can commit for at least one year

Native Plant Cuttings Collection Workshop

Learn collection techniques and help restore watershed habitat.

This is the second of workshop that SPAWN has sponsored as an effort to collect native plant material for restoration projects in the watershed. This is a great opportunity to learn and help restore watershed habitat. Once trained, volunteers can help collect material throughout the year for various projects as well as support a native plant nursery program! (Space is limited to 20 - call to reserve)

When: Wednesday Feb. 18th, 9-1

Where: Roy's Pools, San Geronimo Golf Course (call for directions)

Who: Everyone w/emphasis on folks who can help with future efforts.

Habitat Restoration Day

Volunteers will help to stabilize erosion sites and failing creek banks at several erosion sites that need attention this winter. This work will involve an array of tasks including collecting willow cuttings, application of erosion material, and planting of trees, shrubs, willow sprigs and willow walls. This workday will be a great opportunity to learn restoration techniques which you can do with SPAWN on future restoration days and on your own land.

When: Sunday Feb 22nd, 9-4

Where: San Geron. Valley Cutl. Ctr. (6350 Sir Francis Drake -5mi W of Fairfax)

Who: Everyone with emphasis on people who can help on future dates.
