Native Plant Cuttings and Seed Collection Workshop

Join the Salmon Protection and Watershed Network (SPAWN) for a morning workshop on native plant cuttings and seed collection and propagation techniques.

Participants will learn how to identify native plants and collect cuttings and seeds in the Marin's Lagunitas Watershed in this second workshop. Rose Roberts, Nursery Manager for Circuit Riders Productions Inc will be leading the session in partnership with SPAWN. Gardners and restoration ecologists alike prefer native plants from local seed sources. Species targeted will include cottonwood, hazelnut, snowberry, blackberry and alder. Cuttings collected during the workshop will be cultivated and returned to the San Geronimo Valley for various restoration projects next spring and summer to improve habitat for spawning salmon populations and a myriad of other species.
