SPAWN Presents
Fire
Ecology in Marin County
-A
talk by Urban Forester and Fire Ecologist, Ray Moritz
Fire has been a part of natural
world since the beginning. Today, with so many homes built in
forests that historically experienced fire, a serious problem
has developed-- How do we balance the natural role of fire with
the need to protect lives and property? Come find out about one
of the most interesting components of the environment, fire ecology,
through SPAWN's Tree Ecology Seminar Series #3
Ray Moritz has been a consultant
in Urban Forestry and Fire Ecology in California since 1977, starting
his own business in 1989. He was a firefighter in Marin County
