Watershed Seminar Series

"Saving Salmon in Point Reyes National Seashore."

- A talk by Brannon Ketcham, Hydrologist Brannon Ketcham has led the Coho Salmon and Steelhead Trout Restoration Project (CSRP) for Point Reyes National Seashore in the Lagunitas Creek Watershed for the last year. His work involves the protection and restoration of stream systems for the enhancement of coho salmon and steelhead trout habitat. He is also involved with projects to restore wetlands and oversees the seashore water quality monitoring program.

Brannon will present an update of the current and proposed restoration projects

and CSRP achievements and discoveries from fish passage and habitat restoration projects over the past 4 years. He will be also be presenting a short video of spawning salmon and CSRP projects.

Second presentation of SPAWN’s Watershed Seminar Series. Join SPAWN in a fascinating journey into the ecosystems of the watersheds of Marin County and beyond. Distinguished speakers will present and facilitate lively and interesting discussions on salmon, steelhead, river otter and bird populations and the ecological interactions of these species with the habitats in our region. We will learn about human impacts on the ecosystem, restoration efforts and the cultural history of the native peoples who lived on these lands for thousands of years. Seminars will be held monthly. A brief meeting will precede talks. Stay posted for announcement of future speakers and dates.
