Birdboxes and Seed Collection, Sunday Oct 21

October 10, 2007 through October 22, 2007
This Sunday, Oct 21, please join us to help install flycatcher and swallow nestboxes along our riparian restoration projects on San Geronimo Creek. This workday is being led by a local Boy Scout, Aaron Frantz, who built these boxes to help the neotropical migratory birds that travel thousands of miles each spring to nest in our neighborhoods. All equip/tools provided.

At 1pm a small group of us will break off for one of our seasonal seed scouting expeditions through the Valley. We will gather acorns, elderberry, hazelnut, maple and ash seeds for propagation in our new native plant nursery where we are growing plants exclusively for Valley restoration projects along coho creeks.

WHEN:
Birdbox installation, 9am -12pm.
Seed Collection, 1-3pm.

WHERE:Meet at Roy's Pools on the San Geronimo Golf Course.

Directions to Roy's Pools from 101: Take Sir Francis Drake to Fairfax. Continue on SF Drake ~5 mi West of Fairfax (over the big hill, past the Golf Course). Just past the golf course, make a left onto Nicasio Valley Drive, then left onto San Geronimo Valley Drive. Roy's Pools is on the left hand side under the large cypress trees.
